Beard Transplantation

In trans men, hormone therapy is sometimes not enough alone to grow a beard and a mustache. With the follicular unit extraction (FUE) method, hair taken from the neck area is planted individually to the beard and mustache area. After the transplantation of hair follicles, the hair keeps the same hair characteristics in the area. Many patients often require intensive cultivation because they want beards and mustaches. In beard and mustache transplantation, the density of the beard and moustache hair to be planted is determined entirely according to the person’s preferences. However, there must be a sufficient number of healthy hair follicles available to create the desired density of transplantation.

After beard transplantation, operation-related redness appears on the skin for a few weeks, but it is not permanent. In 2-3 weeks, this change of color will completely disappear. After each transplant session, there is a shock spill. The shock spill seen in 2 weeks is not a symptom to be afraid of. After the spill, all hair lost between will be recovered in a period of 4 to 6 months. The area where beard cultivation is made will ultimately reach the desired appearance within 2 years.

Thanks to the treatment methods that have been designed with developments in medical techniques, it is possible to attach the hair taken from the nape of individuals to the areas where the beard and the mustache are supposed to be. If beard transplantation is performed by experts, the burns and scars in the beard area can be completely eliminated or concealed. Although the skin may appear pinkish after beard transplantation, this is not permanent. This color disappears by itself within a few weeks. Within the 1-2-month period after beard transplantation, it is recommended to cut the beard that grows with scissors and not use razors.
